In Loving Memory of Noah

How can I possibly summarize the joy and unconditional love my precious Noah has brought me and my family over the past near 13 years? Let’s begin here…..Noah Archimedes entered this world on April 29, 2002 as one of 9 puppies. I met him when he was just 2 days old as he literally fit in the palm of my hand. I knew at that time he’d be fur-ever mine. Over the next few months we bonded over learning tricks, obedience and treats….lots and lots of treats. Soon after my now husband entered our lives. Noah was skeptical at first but quickly accepted Tim as his own. Nearly one year after meeting Tim, we adopted our second companion, Ilsa. Over the years Noah and Ilsa were inseparable. They were the best of friends and always had a way of looking out for each other. In March of 2007, we were able to introduce Noah and Ilsa to their newest human companion when our son, Michael was born. Noah, again was skeptical, but soon began to love Michael as another companion. Over the years, Noah was always there….at my heels, by my side and ALWAYS greeting me with a tail wagging hello. Anyone who knew Noah, knew he loved 2 things: food and barking. As time grew on, we adopted, yet another fur buddy, Roamin’. Noah was tolerant of this new friend, but you could always tell he wasn’t as accepting in his older years. This past year, Noah battled cancer and required multiple surgeries for tumor removal. With each surgery the cancer would grow back. With each day that passed we knew our time with him was growing shorter and shorter. On April 11, 2015, just a few weeks shy of his 13th birthday, we tearfully said our last goodbyes and Noah gained his angel wings. My sweet “Old Man”……If love were enough, you would have lived forever…….

Rest in Peace

In Loving Memory of Alfalfa

Pets name: Alfalfa
Age: 2.5 years
Breed/Type: Guinea pig
Favorite toy:  timothy grass carrot, timothy sticks
Favorite treat: oxbow timothy treats, green pepper, almost any veggie except celery. She hated celery!
Favorite thing to do: Alfalfa loved to hide under her blankies. She spent playtime trying to escape – climbing over, nudging under, and opening the playpen. Hiding and escaping is what she did best. She loved to cuddle with her mommy and help with homework. By help, I mean eat. Literally.
Favorite memory: Alfie was always an escape artist. The first day I had her at home, she was in the playpen and jumped right out of it. I actually caught it on video. Piggie was very stubborn and sassy. Our best times were sitting together watching tv, working on homework, or just talking. She was always very chatty. Oh, Halloween 2013 we carved a guinea pig pumpkin! Once my girl became sick, she started giving kisses. She never did that. I truly believe she knew her time was limited and she wanted to give me a sweet memory. I love and miss her so very much. Alfalfa may have been a small little creature, but she will always have a huge place in my heart. RIP baby pig.

Rest in Peace

In Loving Memory of Sophie

Sophie joined our family in the Fall of 2004, along with another Cocker Spaniel, Cookie.  They were found together, along with two other cockers, probably used for breeding as they were each a different color.  She was 2-3 years old at that time, so she was about 13 when she passed away on January 17, 2015.  This heartbreaking loss occurred just two short months after our tearful good-byes to Cookie.  Sophie didn’t really like to play with toys, she wasn’t even bothered by the cats.  Sophie would start out on a walk but would quickly decide it was requiring too much effort and would turn back for home.  She was happy to nap and be loved on, with an occasional spell of sniffing the grass and flowers.  Sophie was the “little sister” to Cookie, always being cared for.  As her vision faded, if she was sleeping alone in a dark room, she would bark for someone to turn a light on for her.  She loved getting treats and going to visit Mamaw & Papaw.  She was so funny about pictures.  She could be as cute or still as possible, but as soon as you pulled out a camera, even a phone, she walked away.  Once she knew you were taking her picture, she was done, no pictures for her fans.  As much as her human family misses her, we know that she and Cookie are reunited, playing and snuggling, on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge

Rest in Peace
