In Loving Memory of Rocky

We found on Petfinder back in 2005. My husband wanted to take my mind off him deploying to Iraq decided we needed another baby to keep me occupied. At the time I had two other cats Claudia and Smokey. Both were getting older and we especially feared that Smokey was nearing the end of his time here on earth. Rocky came to us as a rescue who had fought against all odds to live. He was one of two animals to survive almost being starved to death. We were told that his live span would likely not be a long one.
I believe strongly that God knew what he was doing when he sent us Rocky. He could not have sent a kinder soul to help us through the path of the next ten years. I believe my Smokey prepared Rocky to take over the role of caretaker.
Rocky was always a love bug, extremely loyal and always a rock star in our home.
Due to what happened to him when he was young all of his major systems were affected—especially his heart. We were  told many times that he might not be with us long but he was with us for 10.5 years. In the end it was his heart that gave out.
Sometimes I think I see him walking beside me from the corner of my eyes. Other times I feel him in some other way. My heart aches for my friend still.
It is hard to believe it has almost been 4 months since he left us.
I find comfort in knowing that he is with my other beloved pets waiting for me. All well…happy and playing until my time on earth is done.
R.I.P
