In Loving Memory of Zena

Zena (Zz) was a 19 Jack Russell.
Her favorite toy was a ball.
Her favorite treat was greenness or jumbo nest.
Her favorite thing to do was patrol her backyard.
Favorite memory……..so many things, I think my favorite memory is that of her running through the yard with her brother Boo. She was the oldest and actually raised him from a puppy even though he was not hers. When he was little she would drag him across the living room floor by literally his neck. As he got older she would try to grab the collar but always ended up getting a piece of skin with it. She thought he was her own personal play toy. They would run through the yard and he would do leaps over her while she insisted on being  boss. Even though she was the oldest he outweighed her by about 30 pounds. I have videos of the two of them playing together and one day soon plan on watching them smiling as the two of them are romping on screen or their mommy. Boo misses his “big” sissy terribly.
Rest in Peace Zena

In Loving Memory of Murphy

Murphy Doodle would have been 3 in November.  He was a Black Lab Mix rescued from Pitiful Paws Rescue.  He loved to play with tennis balls, but any ball would do.  He loved rawhide bones and had an ornery habit of stealing them from his brother Buster!  His favorite thing to do was go camping with his family.  His favorite memories were visiting his dad at work at the Fire Station and getting in the firetruck, wrestling with his brother Buster, and cuddling with his family since he thought he was a giant lap dog.   Murphy was the sweetest, most docile animal in the world with such a gentle, loving spirit.  He brought us so much joy in his short life and we will miss him every day.  He is in doggie heaven with his cousin Sam, wonder what they’re doing…

Rest in Peace Murphy

In Loving Memory of Sugar

Sugar may have been about 6 years old when she came to us, in January of 2013, but she quickly became part of our family. It’s hard to imagine how she may have suffered before that time. She was skinny, had a tear in her ear and had obviously been bred, a lot.  She loved to run off, chasing a scent, as she was a Treeing Walker Coon Hound. We worried sick about her every time she managed to get away, but she always returned.  Sugar was an extreme dog. She was either extremely running or extremely sleeping. She went from never barking to always barking. She went from 15 pounds under to 15 pounds over weight. She was horribly afraid of any sound that resembled thunder or gun shots. If outside enjoying a walk and heard those sounds, her tail immediately went between her legs and would go nowhere but back to the house.  In late May 2016, she began laying more and eating less. Tests and exams indicated a very enlarged spleen, so anemic, she’d need a blood transfusion to survive surgery. The splenectomy did confirm cancer but it also afforded 2 months of living and loving together. She recovered quickly from the surgery, enjoyed many hiking trails, dipping her paws in a cold stream, and being annoyed by her little brother, Jax. It felt like she just as quickly fell weak again and joined her sisters, Cookie and Sophie to romp across The Rainbow Bridge.  Forever in our hearts, Sugar!!
