In Loving Memory of Bear

Bear was a twelve year old, fuzzy, lovable Pomeranian. He was my special boy from the very first moment we laid eyes on each other. He’d clearly had a rough start to his young life (he came to me at one year and eleven months old), so I made it my mission to give this sweet boy the wonderful life he deserved.
Over the last ten years, he has been incredibly (and deservedly) spoiled. We’ve had so many adventures; he was my side kick, my little shadow. I have so many favorite memories of him.
I loved to cradle him like a baby and see his big brown eyes look up at me, full of love. I would sing to him, or talk to him, tell him I love him and that he’s wonderful, or kiss his sweet little face. I’ll never forget all the times we played hide-and-seek and how happy and proud he would always be when he found me.
He was so furry, but, he was an absolute blanket hog; if a blanket was around, he would always steal it from you. He loved to burrow in them or just rub all over them.
He loved to go for walks, especially in the snow; he loved to be outside. He rarely played with toys but when he did, it was usually with his little blue squeaky fish, or his little squeaky ice cream cone. Bear was such a playful, happy boy.
I always tried my hardest to do right by him and give him everything he needed. He was my first pet so I know I made mistakes along the way, but he never once cared. He just gave me his whole heart. He would jump and bark and wag not only his tail but his whole body when I would come home. He never once wavered in his love and neither did I. He completed me. He still does. Until we meet again, my sweet baby Bear, sleep tight. I miss you and I love you so much.

Rest in Peace Bear

In Loving Memory of Rita Lynne Chapman

My dearest Rita Lynne Chapman

On December 13, 2018, I said goodbye to one of my closest companions and dearest friends. For 7.5 years I always had my “shadow,” Rita. She would always follow me down the hallway whether I was going to the bedroom or heading to the living room. She would uncomfortably lay in the crease of my legs, forcing me to decide to sleep without comfort or have her be grumpy with me waking her up. Everyday I would come home either from school or work to Miss Rita greeting me with barks of glee! As much as she loved me and deemed me her “one and only” human, she definitely could hodl a grudge. I remember times when I would travel and come home days or weeks later, she would still bark to greet me, but after that she would only lick my leg, nudge my thigh, and then huff and throw a temper tantrum by walking away and acting like she wanted nothing to do with me. Obviously, I forced her to cuddle me and love me, but she always was super annoyed.

When I met her in July 2011, my best friend Brandy Orsini introduced us. Rita (at that time named Ginger) was just a stray walking around on Brandy’s boyfriends land. She was emaciated, scared to have her head touched, and untrusting. However, that first day we met, she came right up to me and began giving me kisses. I knew right away that she was to be my companion on my new excursion from Berkeley County WV to Mason County WV where I would begin college, for a second time, at Marshall University. I remember Brandy telling me that Rita/Ginger and I were meant to be with each other. I like to imagine that Rita had somehow absorbed some of Brandy’s energy and spirit. Without my Rita, I never would have made it through September 11, 2011, when I found out that my dear best friend Brandy had taken her own life. It was because of Rita that I continued to live and try to make it through my daily activities at work and at school.

Rita wasn’t just a dog to me. She was my soulmate. I could read her like a person. I knew when she was annoyed, happy, sad, etc. I know she hated the fact that I brought another dog into the mix in 2013 (her brother Jäger), but she grew to respect my wishes of wanting another pup. Nothing meant more to me than my beautiful, rowdy, and very noisy brindle Black Mouth Cur.

Her passing has left me with an open hole in my heart. I will always grieve for her and wish that I could turn back time to hold her and kiss her just for 5 more minutes.

Rest in Peace Rita

In Loving Memory of Bruno

n Remembrance of our beloved Bruno “UNO” Robertson.  Our #1 boy!

We were extremely blessed to have had Bruno in our lives since October of 2008.  Bruno was 11 years old, 2 months, & 23 days old.  Our Bruno was a Boxer/ English Bulldog.  He was a flawless mixture of both.  Brunos absolute favorite toy was his yellow eggy.  Bruno only liked latex toys with squeakers in them!  Bruno wasn’t like most dogs.  He didn’t chew on our furniture, or our shoes.  He only tore the squeakers out of his babies.  Then he would sit and stare you down very patiently until you put the squeaker back in his babies.  His favorite treats were Milk Bone Soft & Chewy Filet Mignon flavor, Deer Jerky, Milk Bone Maro, Milos Kitchen Chicken Meatballs, Pup-Peroni Beef Flavor.  Brunos favorite things to do were going on car rides, going on walks, playing at the park, going to the country to his Poppas house (my dads), going over to his Mamaws house (my husbands parents).  Bruno also loved to swim and play in the water.  He loved playing with water balloons, or just blown up balloons.  Bruno loved playing with all lights!  It did not matter if it was a handheld light, a headlamp, or a laser light!  Out of all the lights we would have to say the laser lights were his all time favorite!  Bruno also loved the snow.  He would stick his little nose down in the snow and root around in it!  Brunos favorite memory…we sure do have lots of those!   Bruno was with us almost 24-7!  He loved to sit on my husbands lap and drive, or be our co-pilot!  I don’t recall there ever being a time that we took him some where that someone would tell us how pretty he was or if he could have a treat.  Bruno traveled with us to the beach several times and we have wonderful memories that were made!  Bruno also traveled with us to Alabama once where memories were also made.  We always took family vacations and to say the least, Bruno was a major part of our family!  I cannot stress that enough!  Bruno was a very unique, special puppy from the day we brought him home!  Every single day that Bruno was alive, he made every moment a cherishable moment! I have never or will I ever have a bond and love as special as what Bruno and I had!  We are lost and devastated without you!!!!
