In Loving Memory of Miya Beth

In loving memory of Miya Beth born November 6, 2006.

AKA: HRH Mimi, Queen of Mimiland

I rehomed Miya January 31, 2017 at the age of 10. She was malnourished and had spent a lot of time in a crate. I learned from her history she had broken her back leg when she was a year old that wasn’t treated right away, she had surgery to place a band and pin in it.

She acted like she’d always been with me. There was no adjustment period. But she was vomiting a lot and had diarrhea. A couple days later at her first Vet visit I learned why…. she was in kidney failure. Having it myself, I knew what to do. She thrived under my care. Her coat was thick and beautiful where it had been dull and sparse.

The least noise would cause her to jump and run like she’d heard a gunshot. A sudden move and she acted like you were going to hit her.

Her favorite toy was me, she didn’t know how to play with dog toys

Her favorite thing to do was playing “Monster and Boop”. I would talk in a monster voice and tell her I was going to get her. She would run or sometimes come at me like she was the monster. Then I would talk in a sweet voice and tell her I was going to Boop (touch) her nose. She would go from acting like a monster to being sweet in a couple seconds and back again. So cute!

I was determined to give her a happy life.

I would alter baby clothes to make her outfits.

Miya couldn’t get close enough to you. She would squeeze in between your back/side and the back or side of the couch. She loved men.

Despite being scared of noise, she loved walking under the coffee table over and over and clanking her harness against it.

She loved laying in her dog beds and had 5 of them. That wasn’t enough… she would make beds out of anything…. a 31 tote bag, towels she would pull out of the shelf in the bathroom or even a plastic grocery bag. She loved going for car rides and to visit our groomer Melinda Sowards (Precious Pet Salon) every 4-6 weeks.

Bedtime was her favorite time. She loved sleeping with me. I had to hurry and get the space I wanted because she would lay tight against me. If I rolled onto my side, she would adjust to get right back against me. She would refuse to move over so I would be left on the very edge of the bed.

I nicknamed her Mimi and joked about her being the Queen of Mimiland. I would post stories and pictures on Facebook about HRH (Her Royal Hiney). I thought about making her a YouTube channel, I know she would have had a lot of followers.

Monday July 15th, Miya woke up in bad shape walking sideways and falling over. Her kidney failure worsened and her body was full of toxins.

Mommy misses her. The house is so empty without her. I have cried so many tears. On Wednesday I was driving home from work and there was the most vivid rainbow in the sky. A beautiful reminder that Mimi had crossed that bridge.

Rest well Queen of Mimiland.

In Loving Memory of Wally

Wally, a 12-year-old pitbull was the sweetest most gentle boy ever. If he had a slogan it would read ”peace and love.”
He loved and wanted to kiss everybody he met including the mailman, FedEx man, and UPS man. He loved and would always give wet kisses to the grandkids, he would get so excited to see the grandkids come to visit then get so bummed out when they left. Wally loved his siblings, Kiwi, a toy fox terrier, (his favorite cuddle buddy) Tyson a Pomapoo, Zoey a pit bull mix, and our cat Stalker, as well as our many chickens. His favorite stuffed toy was Lammie (lamb chop) He had a white, blue, and a pink one. He always seemed to choose the pink one when we would let him choose which one he wanted to sleep with.
I will forever miss the love and joy he gave to us. I will also miss his moans and groans, his ”I rove roo’s” (l love you), and his pouty bottom lip, his big noggin of a head and wet kisses. I will miss him trying to catch a treat when we would toss it in the air for him (he would miss most of the time). I will miss him greeting me with a toy when I would come home and running away with the ball when we would play fetch. I will miss when he would toot a stinky toot and you would hear me make the sniffing sound then ask him if he tooted and he would get embarrassed and leave the room or go lay somewhere else.
I will miss you sitting at the dining table with us during breakfast and dinner. I will miss the sincerity in your eyes when you looked at us.
I miss you dearly, my heart is broken and I will never forget the beautiful boy you were. I will always love you-you were my sweet face boy.
RIP, Sweet face 💔

In Loving Memory of Lucky

Lucky Shafer,   Rat Terrier Mix…………..Came into our lives November 6, 2011, passed away in our loving arms on June 4, 2019.
Lucky loved pupperoni, and anything his Dad was eating……He enjoyed playing with large stuffed animals
Lucky enjoyed camping, fishing and barking at squirrels
Lucky came into our lives on November 6, 2011, he was hit by a car in front of our home and made his way beside of our house  where my two boxers were trying to get our attention to help him.  He was hurt, so we took him to the vet, and tried to find the owner, but to no avail, he found his new home with me, my husband,  and our fur babies, Chance and Bailey, and made our little family
complete.
After the car hit Lucky, the vet stated he had a broken leg, but surgery was more than we could afford, but with a lot of love and TLC, his leg mended and he was able to run after rabbits, bark at squirrel’s, camping and fish.   Our lives changed the day he came into our home.   Chance was our male boxer, who didn’t quit see things as Lucky, being a Terrier mix, who thought he was a Rottweiler, and things should always go his way, but  Chance just wanted to play ….but Bailey girl, our second boxer, was the peace maker, she wanted to be the big sister and make sure they both got along, and she wasn’t afraid to let them both know she is the boss.
Bailey would be the peace maker, and she did a great job of this, making the brothers get along….they all were very happy together, and we loved them so much.  They each brought so much happiness to us, but in no time they each went to “The Rainbow Bridge”  to wait for us.
We had to make the hard decision for Chance and Bailey, both of our boxers were no longer able to walk with out assistance,  due to their hips, but we couldn’t bare to see them trying their hardest to keep us happy, but they could go no longer.  They are both happy now, running and playing.
Lucky had Cushing disease, but He didn’t let that stop him from doing what he wanted to do.
On June 4, 2019, we had our dinner, and then went for a short walk, came back home, and took a little nap.   Lucky was in Bed with us, and he let out a loud “Yelp” and we both jumped up ,grabbed him,  and then he started vomiting.  While I cleaned up the mess, my husband took him to the living room, and before I could get back in there, he passed away in my husbands arms.
I held him for so many hours until my husband made me to go bed….our hearts are still broken today, but they will be forever in our hearts…………………….
Our hearts are so broken, all of our fur babies have passed on, there will be another fur baby who will rescue us soon, and we will begin another journey…….

Rest in Peace Lucky

In Loving Memory of Shakespeare

Shakespeare was relived of pain on Monday afternoon, June 24.  Shakes was 15 years old and had many friends and fans.  A truly kindred spirit and set the bar for other little poodles out there.  His last year or so he was on insulin and he fought the good fight.  Everyday was a holiday, every meal was a banquet.  Shakespeare maintained a cheerful spirit in the midst of irksome pain that comes with old age and was loved every minute.  The void he leaves seems bigger than the stars and heavens.  He loved car rides and he slept on the pillow beside his owner Peggy every night.  Shakes loved his fried egg in the mornings and being told “what a good boy you are”.  The absence of the sounds his little paws made on the hard wood floors will be missed dearly.  Loyalty is not well defined in Webster’s dictionary, there should be a reference to dogs, especially Shakespeare.  Many broken hearts will take forever to heal and he leaves behind his Mom Peggy, a daughter Karoline, a grandmother Carolyn and his newest friends Stauffenberg and her owner Tony.  As we grieve his passing, we will also try to celebrate his life and be happy he is no longer in pain.  RIP Shakespeare, you left a very large pawprint on our hearts.
