In Loving Memory of Riven

Riven was a loyal, intelligent, and athletic alpha dog. He loved to play Frisbee, chase golf balls, or play defense with his mom (Donna) on their half basketball court. Playing basketball together was a favorite past time of theirs and she misses playing with him. In his youth, Riven performed in agility trials. He wasn’t the fastest but he sure did enjoy running the courses with his other mom (Julia). They traveled to trials on the weekends and he enjoyed many cheeseburgers as treats for all the ribbons he won. Riven loved the water. In his older years he moved by a river and owned a pool. He was in heaven. He could swim all day if left to his own devices. Riven thrived in following direction, his vets would say he was the best listening dog ever. Riven is a survivor. When he was six he was diagnosed with a debilitating neurological disorder, his mom’s were committed to his recovery and in due time, against all odds, he did recover, to his fullest and lived out his remaining years as active as ever. Riven is survived by two brothers, Fable (Sheltie) and Jagger (Cat). Although Fable isn’t the most playful pup and we know how cats are, Riven could get them engaged in play before anyone else could. Fable loved to follow Riven in play and it was said Fable wouldn’t know how to play when Riven was gone. They know he is gone, they may not know where or why and it’s like they are waiting for him to come back. What a wonderful gift our animals have, not knowing death, living each day as if it would never end. There are many lessons to learn from our pets, Riven taught us so much and we will miss him forever (and a day). Donna and Julia

Rest in Peace Riven
