Jasmine was a special dog. Not just because she could speak the occasional English word or phrase. Not because she loved to walk around in her robust wardrobe of clothes, from Jammies to dresses. And not because she was born on the eve of Jesus’s birthday. Jasmine was special because of how much she loved her family and how much her family loved her. She loved them so much she would bark any time they left and was so excited when they returned. She loved her grandma Dr. Arlene so much she would refuse to get back on the bed unless she was sure her grandma was going to the bed with her. And she loved her grandpa Dr. Bill so much from the time he first picked her up and looked at her with curiosity, that she would sit in his chair with him every chance she had. Jasmine also loved running through the sand at the Jersey Shore, her front legs swinging sideways as she ran around socializing with different groups of beachgoers. Her favorite toy was Lamby. Her favorite songs were the hits “Turkey Dinner” and “Soft Jasmine”. Jasmine lived a blessed life. She was lucky she found Amanda and the Basedow family…and they were lucky they found her. Jasmine may have passed away after a long and beautiful life, but she will never be forgotten. For now, she sits happily with her brother Buddy, waiting for Amanda to meet someday at the rainbow bridge.
Rest in Peace Jasmine
