Leila was a8 year old Boxer.
She wasn’t really into toys.
Her favorite treat was Turkey.
Her favorite thing to do was sleep! She loved to lay on the couch or snuggle with her doggy sister Elsea.
Leila was my first dog. I have had dogs growing up, but they were family dogs that my parents mainly raised. Leila was mine. She came into my life when a lot of changes were happening (some bad, some good). I thought I was “experienced” in dog ownership, but boy did Leila prove me wrong. Our relationship was a little rocky in the beginning, but slowly we started to figure things out. For once in my life I started to understand what it really meant to take care of someone, what it meant to be relied on, and how much she and I needed one another. Even despite our struggles in the beginning, Leila was fiercely loyal to me. She followed me EVERYWHERE. She was the sweetest, strangest (in a funny way), and most laid back dog you would ever meet. I would have had Leila 5 years this coming January, yet I feel like she has always been a part of my life from the beginning. To say she will be missed is an understatement. My husband, her doggy sister Elsea, and I already miss her a ton. Leila… I love you and you brought so much joy in my life. I hope you left this world knowing how much we cherished you. I saved you, but really you saved me.
Rest in peace my sweet girl.
